Christian J.-F. Rochet, President, Chief Executive Officer, Director
Mr. Rochet, a French national, is an independent business consultant on development and diversification strategies. He became a shareholder of Hippocampe S.A. (now our subsidiary Mymetics S.A.) in 1997 and was a director of that company between 1999 and 2001. He was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer after having been elected to the Board of Directors in July 2003. Previously, Mr. Rochet was a successful international consultant advising large and small companies in their diversification efforts. Between 1986 and 1992, he was President and CEO of the French subsidiary of Tokos Medical. Prior to this, Mr. Rochet founded his own consulting firm offering advice to French companies wishing to apply the principles of diversification he had previously been teaching at the Lyon Graduate School of Business and also writing about as a successful author of business books. Mr. Rochet holds an MBA from the University of Sherbrook in Canada, an ITP from Harvard Business School and French degrees in Marketing and Accounting.

Ernst Lübke, Secretary, Chief Financial Officer, Director
Mr. Lübke, a Swiss national, was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Secretary in July and August 2003 after having been elected to the Board of Directors. After an early stint in industry, Mr. Lübke spent six years as auditor and consultant with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co (now KPMG), followed by four years as co-founder of Eurogroup Consultants, successfully assisting European banks in implementing innovative customer-oriented commercial strategies. Between 1991 and 2003, Mr. Lübke founded and managed several Swiss biotech start-up companies, including Viraid Ltd, which was active in AIDS. Mr. Lübke holds an economics degree from the University of Geneva, Switzerland.

Dr. Sylvain Fleury, Ph.D., VP, Chief Scientific Office, Director
Dr. Fleury was appointed as our Chief Scientific Officer in November 2003 and as a Director on January 11, 2006. In addition to serving as our Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Fleury has maintained until June 2006  his academic research activity on in heart transplantation at the Department of Experimental Surgery from the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) in Lausanne, Switzerland. Dr. Fleury moved to the CHUV in January 1997 where he initially worked as Assistant to Professor Giuseppe Pantaleo until June 2000, a leading expert in AIDS. During that time, he studied the immune regeneration of HIV infected subjects under highly active anti-retroviral therapy. He then moved to the Division of Cardiology (CHUV) as Project leader for developing new research activities in gene therapy applied to heart transplantation, in collaboration with Novartis, and genetic studies involving chemokines and chemokine receptors in heart rejection. In January 2004, Dr. Fleury  moved to the Department of Experimental Surgery directed by Professor Yann Barrandon, a world leader on stem cells , for completing its research on lentiviral gene therapy . Dr. Fleury obtained his B.Sc. in Microbiology in 1985 from the University of Montreal (Canada), his M.Sc. in Virology in 1988 from the Institut Armand-Frappier (Laval, Canada) and his Ph.D. in 1992 from the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal in Canada with Rafick Sekaly. During his Ph.D., Dr. Fleury worked on the CD4 molecule, which is the primary HIV cellular receptor. From 1993-1996, Dr. Fleury completed his postgraduate studies in Bethesda (USA) at the NIAID, National Institutes of Health (NIH), with Dr. Ronald N. Germain, a world renowned Immunologist. Dr. Fleury is the recipient of several awards and prizes and has published articles in his field of study in scientific journals with a high impact such as Science, Cell, Nature, Nature Medicine, Circulation.

Prof. Marc Girard, DVM, D.Sc., Head of Vaccine Development, Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board
Since January 2004, Professor Marc Girard, a world-renowned vaccine expert, has been dividing his time between Mymetics and the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland. Professor Girard previously held several prestigious positions at leading institutions, including Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Virology at the Pasteur Institute in Paris (France), Director of the European Research Center for Virology and Immunology (CERVI) in Lyon (France), Head of the HIV Task Force at the French National Agency for AIDS Research (ANRS), Paris, Director General of the Mérieux Foundation in Lyon (France) and Chairman of the European Consortium for an HIV Vaccine (EuroVac), Brussels. Professor Girard has written numerous articles and books in the field of virology, vaccines and AIDS. His broad knowledge on vaccine developments has been and will continue to be important for the vaccine strategy developed by Mymetics.
